THE INNOCENCE OF LIFE (2020) For String Quartet

$150.00

For solo oboe and optional wave drum. Approximate duration: 3 minutes.

This piece is a celebration of life! Whilst searching for ideas for this work, my two delightful new little nieces entered this world - their schedule taking us all by surprise! The work explores the magic, beauty and fragility of new life, and the feeling of love that sweeps over us when we welcome a new soul (or two!) into the world.

This piece is dedicated to Kate, Aldi and Emi - the moment you have been waiting for is here : )

The Innocence of Life, supported by the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, was composed in conjunction with the CSO's Australian Miniseries, co-curated by Jessica Cottis and Matthew Hindson. The online premiere performance of this work took place on the 9th October, 2020 and was performed by Megan Pampling, CSO Principal Oboe.
